CenterPoint® Compatibility Restrictions
CenterPoint and Microsoft® Windows® 7, Windows 8, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft Windows Server 2012
Microsoft ended its support of the Windows 7 and Server 2008 operating systems on January 14, 2020, Windows 8 on January 10, 2023, and Windows Server 2012 R2 on October 10, 2023. They are no longer providing system or security updates to the operating systems. Red Wing Software follows Microsoft guidelines and does not support CenterPoint on Windows 7, Windows 8 or Server 2008 — Server 2012 R2. CenterPoint is fully supported on newer operating systems.
Microsoft SQL Server®
CenterPoint uses Microsoft SQL Server. For security and performance reasons, it is not recommended that Microsoft SQL Server be installed on a domain controller.
Red Wing Software will not assist in the installation and configuration of SQL Server on a domain controller.

Running CenterPoint in Microsoft® Windows® installed on a Mac® computer
CenterPoint is not compatible with macOS®, but may be installed on a Mac computer running Microsoft Windows via Parallels®. Note: CenterPoint uses Microsoft SQL Server. SQL Server Express 2019 is not compatible with Arm® processors found in Mac computers produced since 2020. To use CenterPoint on Arm processor computers you need to run SQL Server Express 2014, or run SQL Server Express 2019 on a non-Arm PC. CenterPoint can also be used on a Mac with Red Wing Cloud Services. Please contact us for more details.
