Below are general instructions for finding information about your Windows® operating system. Because all system installations are different, these instructions may not work for you. For further help determining operating system compatibility please feel free to contact us.

  • Press Windows + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app.
  • In the Settings menu, select System.
  • Select About, near the bottom of the list.
  • Under Windows Specifications, the installed version of Windows will display.

CenterPoint is compatible with all current express and standard versions of Microsoft SQL Server®. CenterPoint distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Express by default.

  • Open your Control Panel (you can find it in My Computer or on the Start menu).
  • Double click the System icon.
  • Alternatively, right-click My Computer and select Properties.
  • The window that opens will show you the version of Windows operating system you are running.

CenterPoint is compatible with all current express and standard versions of Microsoft SQL Server®. CenterPoint distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Express by default.

Note: CenterPoint uses Microsoft SQL Server. For security and performance reasons, it is not recommended that Microsoft SQL Server be installed on a Domain Controller. Red Wing Software will not assist in the installation and configuration of SQL Server on a Domain Controller.

  • The Red Wing Cloud Services environment (RWCS) works with Windows, Mac® and mobile devices.
  • Windows
    • RWCS works with all mainstream browsers such as Microsoft Edge®, Google Chrome™ and Mozilla® Firefox®.
    • All Windows updates should be installed, so the latest browser updates are in place.
  • Mac
    • The Microsoft Remote Desktop app is needed to access RWCS. This app is available free from the App Store®.
    • Safari® is not compatible with RWCS.
    • RWCS can be used on a Mac that has Parallels® installed running a Microsoft Windows operating system.
  • Mobile devices
    • RWCS works with iPads®, Samsung Galaxy® tablets, iPhones® and Android™ phones but would require the free Microsoft Remote Desktop app.
    • RWCS usage on mobile devices does not scale and will result in a very small user interface.
  • Internet Connection
    • A reliable high-speed connection is required. Cable, fiber, or DSL is recommended.
    • Satellite connections are not recommended.
    • Connection
      • RWCS works with an up and down speed as low as 1 up and 1 down.
      • A ping rate of 100 or lower is required.
      • Users can run a speed test from websites such as speedtest.net to determine connection speeds.
    • The better the connection speed and ping rate, the better the user experience.
    • Slower internet connections will see a slower environment load time and will experience slowness when printing from the cloud back to the local PC.
