We are in the process of implementing the Time Clock with our CenterPoint payroll software. Does the Time Clock system have an API or REST calls that we can make to pull data from it?

Not for the Time Clock specifically, but we do have some REST API and the Data Browser to get data out of the backend.

What kind of data are you looking for?

Hello, tony--

We're working on developing a comprehensive system to afford shop supervisors and managers better insight into employee activity (when they clocked in, what jobs they're currently working on, whether they have a half day, etc.) and to also give better intra-company insight into things like vacations, sick days, overtime days, etc. We have a couple custom software programs that we've already written to address other areas of the business (such as the aforementioned program that lets employees clock into jobs), and we are looking to also integrate any data that we can from CenterPoint into this system. We're a manufacturing company and our shop floor workers are scattered amongst many different areas of the plant, and being able to get a better grasp on their daily activities has always been a sought-after goal of ours.

So if we can work the CenterPoint data into the system (especially concerning the Time Clock) we are one large step forward in realizing that goal.

I believe that all the Time Clock data ends up in CenterPoint Payroll (I didn't work on Time Clock so I'm no expert.)

At this point, our REST API doesn't have what you need.

If you can find reports in CenterPoint that get the data you are after, you can use the Data Browser to retrieve data from those reports. The Data Browser is a command line utility that writes report data out to a file in either XML or CSV. There's a little bit of set up, but we have UI that helps with that.

The first step is to identify which reports in CenterPoint Payroll have the information you want. Reports -> Payroll Data -> Time Sheets is my guess.

Understood, tony. Could you point me to the API documentation regardless? Even if it can't fulfill our needs, I'd be curious to peruse it nonetheless, to see what other functionality it could afford us.

Thanks much!
